9:30-

Talked with Alan Branigan about rehab possibilities:

Thoughts:

Goniometer:

ECU has one to use

NTL file needs "tweeking" complete makeover

What can come from testing the goniometer?

     Paper?  Who?

     Markus Ed Tibor?

Hand Grip:

How to build?

     Potentiometers

What are the applications?

     Rehab

Balance plate:

With applications to physical therapy.

Need better sensing capabilities:  tried tilt sensors and pressure sensors.

Will use the tech in digital scales to try and use.

Breath monitor:

What are the applications?

SIDS, monitor breathing rates, teach breath control, shock monitoring

How to build it:

     Sliding potentiometer

     Rip apart scales

Emily would like to write about how these applications will impact vocational services to rural communities.

Telerehab: what are they doing now?

Prosthetic evaluation.

EMG diagnostics (physical therapy)

Assistive technology consults and follow-up in the rural homes. (Sandi Baldwin)

On-site work evaluations for rural communities.

10:30

Ron Rouse

1) Logistics:  Shipping- Steve Trout 808 433 1810 ext 1520.  Ship to this man in Hawaii.

May need to contact Mark Adkins to double check #

Questions:

How long does it take to ship pt to pt?

To what address?

Are there size weight limits on shipping?

Who is the power spec guy?

Is someone providing tables and chairs, Lights, etc?

Ron is under the opinion that a mountain barrier will obstruct the wireless LAN from cmoc to camp.

We need a topo map with long and lat coordinates to find this out.

We need to Contact Billy Igoe about testing NeatTools communication with HAM radio.

11:15

Billy Igoe

Discussed HAM radio:

good news... Solar Activity is High  (On ave it is 100,  lately it has been 130-150, sometimes 200)  The higher the level of solar activity, the better the communications for the HAM

Task:

Test neattools reading of audio to digital translation.  Local radio test. (

Wednesday morning at 8:00 will discuss logistics of using VOA towers

Note:

VOA has given old towers to ECU, we will use these towers in the communications process during the project itself if it renders better communications.

2:00 on...

Went to get supplies to make a breath monitor

Meeting on NGI and Strong Angel:

Found out about organization of satellite time for Strong Angel... If CRNR people need Sat time need to coordinate ASAP

ECU will schedule most projects from 1 to 5pm everyday.  They also dedicated sat in am from 7 to 1am to NASA experiments.  So we can not use it from 7am to 5pm... 1-11pm on east coast and 10am-8pm on west coast.  6am, however (hawaii time is noon east coast time and 9am west coast... so for our stuff.... looks like the early am is only available)

Looking at topography is important.  We went to library, takes more research to get exact maps... since they are so detailed.

will go tonight to get the topo map.  Is a mountain going to block the sat connection?  We heard a rumor... ECU has put someone on finding out about that.

Found out that 8am Wednesday we are testing neattools on HAM radio

Ron Rouse wants a meeting at 1pm Tues with us.
